Required fields refer to a section within a document that must be filled out by the signer before finalizing the signing process. When a field is marked as required, the signer is obligated to provide the necessary information or data in that field before they can proceed with their signature.
In BoldSign, the sender can customize field requirements if needed during the document creation process. This enables you to control whether specific fields are optional or mandatory for signers, improving document accuracy and compliance.
Follow the below steps to mark the form fields as required or optional:
- On the Dashboard page, click the
Create Newbutton and select theCreate New Documentoption. - Fill in all the necessary fields and click the
Nextbutton. - You will be navigated to the Configure fields page.
- Drag and drop any form field to the desired location in the document.
- By default, the
Requiredoption is enabled in the settings section. If needed, you can disable the field based on your requirements.
- When the
Requiredoption is enabled, the signer cannot skip the field while signing.
- On the other hand, if the
Requiredoption is disabled, the signer can skip the field and sign the document.
