How to generate a signing link for recipients in the BoldSign mobile app?
After sending a document for signature, the sender or their admin can generate a signing link directly from the BoldSign mobile app. This link can be shared through any messaging app, making it easier to remind recipients to sign in addition to the email notification.
Enable document signing link generation
The signing link generation feature in BoldSign can only be activated by the account administrator. Currently, this can be done in the BoldSign web app or through the BoldSign mobile browser experience.

Generate a signing link in BoldSign mobile app
Follow the step-by-step procedure below to generate the document signing link in BoldSign
- Start by logging in to your BoldSign mobile app account.
- On the Dashboard page, tap the
Waiting for Others
widget to find the documents for which you need to generate a signing link.
- Alternatively, you can find the documents by tapping the
Documents
icon on the bottom navigation bar and navigating to the Documents screen.
- Tap the document for which you wish to generate a signing link to be taken to the document information page.
- Navigate to the
Recipient
section to view recipient details. - Tap the context menu of the recipient who has not signed and select the
Generate sign link
option.
- A confirmation dialog box will appear, displaying the signing link and instructions on how to use it. Copy the link by tapping the
Copy link and close
button.
- You can now share the signing link with the specified signer through messaging apps, allowing them to continue with the signing process.
If the signing order is enabled for the document, the Generate signing link option will only be available to the current signer in the specified order.
Additionally, this option is not available for authentication failure, group signers, or In-person signers.
How to access signing link details in the audit trail
You can track signing link details in the audit trail, including who generated it, when it was created, recipient info, and the dates the link was received and the document signed.
Follow the steps below to view the details:
- Tap the
Documents
icon on the bottom navigation bar and navigating to the Documents screen. - Locate the document you need to download its audit trail and tap the context menu.
- Choose
Download audit trail
- Once the audit trail document is downloaded, review it to track key actions. You can see who generated the signing link and when, the recipient details, the date the link was received, and the date the document was signed.
