Authentication is the process of verifying a user’s identity, adding an extra layer of security to the document signing process. Currently, the BoldSign mobile app offers three authentication methods: Email OTP, SMS OTP, and access code. The sender can choose any of these methods when creating the document.

Follow the below steps to add authentication to a signer

  • Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen to display a list of options, then select create new document.

create new document

  • Upload your document, then tap continue to proceed.

Upload document

  • You will be taken to the Recipient List screen. Tap the Add Recipient option and enter the recipient’s details.
  • Enable the Authentication feature by tapping the toggle. The Email OTP, SMS OTP, and Access Code authentication methods will be displayed.
  • Select your preferred method and proceed to send the document.

Authentication option

  • If you select the Email OTP option, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the signer’s email. The signer must enter the received code to access the document.

Email OPT

  • If you select the SMS OTP option, the signer must first verify their phone number to receive the OTP.

Verify phone number

  • Once verified, an OTP will be sent to their phone, which they must enter to access the document.

SMS OPT

  • If you select the Access Code option, you must enter the code in the access code field and share it with the signer. The signer can only access the document after entering the correct code.
