In BoldSign, when a document is sent with an authentication method, the authentication retry limit is displayed as specified by the sender. If a signer enters an incorrect code and exceeds the set number of attempts, the document is automatically locked to prevent unauthorized access. Signers can view the retry limit while accessing the documents.
Follow the steps below to check the retry limit while accessing the documents using email:
- Open the signature request email and click the
Review and Sign
button. - You will be directed to a Verification page, which only appears if the sender has enabled an authentication method for the document.
- You will see a note on this page indicating the number of allowed attempts before the document gets locked.
- By default, BoldSign allows three authentication attempts, but the sender can modify this limit.
- If you exceed the allowed attempts by entering an incorrect authentication code too many times, the document will get locked.
- An error message will appear, informing you of the failed authentication and instructing you to contact the sender for assistance.
