How to set authentication retry attempts in BoldSign
Authentication is the process of verifying a user’s identity, adding an extra layer of security to document signing. Account admins can control how many times a signer can attempt to enter a verification code before the document is locked. This helps secure documents and prevent unauthorized access. If a signer exceeds the allowed attempts, the document is automatically locked.
Follow the steps below to set authentication retry attempts for your documents:
-
On the dashboard page, expand the
Settings
menu and selectBusiness Profile
. -
Scroll down to the Document Settings section, where you’ll find the
Authentication Retry Count
option. -
This option is enabled by default and cannot be disabled, with a default retry limit set to 3.
-
Use the
increment
anddecrement
dropdown controls to adjust the authentication retry count as needed.
-
Click
Save changes
to apply the authentication limit to your documents. -
When signers attempt to sign the document, the authentication retry limit is displayed. If they exceed the limit, the document is locked.
