How to set authentication retry attempts in BoldSign

Published:
1 min read

Authentication is the process of verifying a user’s identity, adding an extra layer of security to document signing. Account admins can control how many times a signer can attempt to enter a verification code before the document is locked. This helps secure documents and prevent unauthorized access. If a signer exceeds the allowed attempts, the document is automatically locked.

Follow the steps below to set authentication retry attempts for your documents:

  • On the dashboard page, expand the Settings menu and select Business Profile.

  • Scroll down to the Document Settings section, where you’ll find the Authentication Retry Count option.

  • This option is enabled by default and cannot be disabled, with a default retry limit set to 3.

  • Use the increment and decrement dropdown controls to adjust the authentication retry count as needed.

  • Click Save changes to apply the authentication limit to your documents.

  • When signers attempt to sign the document, the authentication retry limit is displayed. If they exceed the limit, the document is locked.
