In BoldSign, once a document has been signed, it cannot be modified directly. However, you can clone the signed document to create a new version, make the necessary changes, and resend it to the signers. This helps save time and allows you to quickly recreate and modify existing documents without starting from scratch.
Follow the steps below to clone or duplicate a document.
- Go to Documents and
click My Documents. - Then, select the completed document you want to resend. You will find the
Clone documentoption in the context menu.
- Alternatively, you can click on the document to navigate to its overview page. Then, click the
More Actionsbutton, where you will find theClone documentoption.
- When you choose the
Clone documentoption, a Clone Document dialog box will appear with two options:Without form field valuesandWith form field values.
- If you select the
Without form field valuesoption, the cloned document will not retain any form field values, and all fields will be empty in the new document. - If you choose the
With form field values option, the cloned document will retain the form field values from the original document if they contain data. However, certain form field values may not be retained due to security and functionality limitations. - Select the desired clone type, then click the
Clonebutton. - This will take you to the editing page of the cloned document, where you can modify existing settings and make any additional changes before sending the document for signing.
