Qualified Electronic Signature (QES)

A Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) ensures legally binding, secure, and compliant digital document signing across the EU, streamlining the signing process with eIDAS certification. Enabling QES in Business Profile makes it available when creating documents and templates.

QES in Business Profile

  • Go to the Business Profile page from the Settings menu.
  • Find and enable the Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) option.

  • After enabling the QES option, a Number of Verification Attempts text box will be displayed.

  • Set the verification attempts for signing documents, then click the Save changes button to apply your settings.

  • Click on Create New and select the Create New Document option.
  • You will be directed to the Prepare document for signing page. Upload files on the Add file(s) section and add recipients.
  • Click the dropdown arrow on the recipients Settings and enable the Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) option.

  • Fill in any other required fields and click the Next button to proceed to the Configure fields page.
  • On the configure fields page, drag and drop the required form fields onto the document and send for signature.

  • You can also enable the QES option when creating a template.

Limitations for QES Configuration

  • Only one signer per document can have QES enabled.
  • Document file size limit cannot exceed 30MB.
  • For multiple signers, QES must be assigned to the last signer, and a signing order must be enabled.
  • The Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) cannot be applied if the last signer has the same signing order as another signer.
  • QES is not applicable for self-signing documents, reviewers, or group signers.

  • After filling in the required fields, the signer clicks the Verify button.

  • A dialog box appears, prompting them to verify their EvroTrust Identity.

  • The signer can verify their identity using an Email, Personal ID or Mobile Number.

  • After successful verification, the signer is redirected to the processing dialog, which displays a timer, verification ID, and transaction ID, along with a Withdraw Request link.

  • Clicking the Withdraw request button redirects to a confirmation dialog box where the user can confirm and withdraw the request.

  • If the signer does not choose to withdraw the request, the document will be signed through the EuroTrust application.
  • If the signer completes the document, they will be redirected to the sign completion page.
  • If no account is found, the signer will be redirected to the Account Not Found dialog, with a retry option.
