How to allow senders to edit or delete template form fields?

BoldSign allows template creators to grant senders permission to edit or delete form fields during the sending process. When using a template, the sender can edit or delete individual form fields based on the permissions set for each field.

Follow the steps below to enable sender permissions for editing or deleting template form fields:

• Click Create New, and select the Create New Template option.

• You’ll be directed to the Prepare Templates page. Here, enter the template title and description, and upload the necessary files in the Add File(s) section.

• In the Add Role section, specify the role of the signer to be used each time the template is sent. Then click Next to proceed to the Configure Fields page.

• On the Configure Fields page, drag and drop the required form fields into the document.

• Select a form field to open its settings panel on the right side of the screen.

• In the Allow Sender Actions section, you will see Edit This Field and Delete This Field options, which are enabled by default.

  • Selecting the Edit This Field checkbox allows senders to edit the form field settings when using the template.

  • Selecting the Delete This Field checkbox allows senders to delete the form field when using the template.

Enabling both the edit this field and delete this field options

• If you enable both the Edit This Field and Delete This Field checkboxes during template creation:
  

• When senders use the template, they can access the Configure Fields page to edit or delete fields based on the permissions you’ve set.

  • To delete a field, the sender can right-click the field and choose the Delete option.

  • To edit a field, the sender can select it, use the settings panel on the right side of the screen to update the field details, and then click Send to send the document out for signature.

Disabling only the edit this field option

• If you disable Edit This Field and keep Delete This Field enabled:

• When senders use the template, they can access the Configure Fields page. They are allowed to delete form fields and edit only their default values, but they cannot modify any other form field settings. Additionally, they are not allowed to duplicate, cut, copy, paste, resize, or move the form fields.
  
  

Disabling only the delete this field option

• If you disable Delete This Field and keep Edit This Field enabled:
  
• When senders use the template, they can access the Configure Fields page and edit the form field settings, but cannot delete or cut the form field.

Disabling both the edit this field and delete this field options

• If you disable both the Edit This Field and Delete This Field checkboxes during template creation:
  
• When senders use the template, they can access the Configure Fields page but cannot delete or edit the form field settings. They can only change or modify the default value.
