Can documents be viewed across different BoldSign regions?
Documents sent between BoldSign accounts that are registered in different geographic regions—such as Europe and the United States—will not appear on the recipient’s dashboard due to how BoldSign manages and stores document data. Specifically, the BoldSign stores all documents within the sender’s registered region to ensure data security and compliance with regional regulations.
As a result, when sender and recipient accounts are registered under different regions, the documents remain visible only on the sender’s dashboard and do not synchronize to the recipient’s account dashboard. This means that while the recipient will still receive the signature request notification via email, they will not be able to access or view the document directly from their BoldSign dashboard.
Cross-Region user configuration in BoldSign accounts:
-
User A – Registered in the Europe region (BoldSign account holder)
-
User B – Registered in the United States region (BoldSign account holder)
-
User C- Registered in the United States region( BoldSign account holder)
Use Case 1: User A sends a document to User B
- User A (Europe) sends a document to User B (United States) using BoldSign.
- The document is sent to User B United States using BoldSign
- User B receives an email notification with a link to sign the document.
- However, since User B is registered in a different region (US), the document does not appear on User B’s BoldSign dashboard.
- User B can only access the document via the email link, not from within the BoldSign app.``
Use Case 2: User B sends a document to User A
- User B (United States) sends a document to User A (Europe) using BoldSign.
- User A receives an email notification with a link to view or sign the document.
- However, since User A is registered in a different region (EU) the document will not appear on User A’s BoldSign dashboard.
- As in the previous case, access is available only through the email link.
Use Case 3: User B sends a document to User C
- User B and User C both have BoldSign accounts registered in the United States.
- User B (United States) sends a document to User C (United States) using BoldSign.
- User C receives an email notification with a link to access and sign the document.
- Since both accounts are in the same region, when user C opens their dashboard, the document will also appear there.
- In this case, both the email and dashboard views are available, ensuring a seamless document experience for both parties.
To ensure seamless document visibility, access, and management on both sides, it is important that both the sender and recipient have their BoldSign accounts registered in the same region. Otherwise, cross-region document exchanges will be limited to email notifications without dashboard visibility for the recipient.
