How to auto-detect the form fields in a PDF document on mobile app?

The BoldSign mobile app automatically detects supported fillable form fields within a PDF and seamlessly converts them into its own form field types when creating a signature request. The supported fields include Textbox, Checkbox, Radio Button, Dropdown, and Signature.

Follow the steps below to auto-detect form fields from a PDF document:

  • On the Dashboard page, tap the + button on the bottom navigation bar to open the Create New screen, then select Create New Document.

  • You’ll be taken to the Upload Documents screen. Tap the Upload documents button to upload your file.

  • Tap Continue to proceed to the Recipient List screen.
  • Tap the Add Recipient button at the bottom to enter recipient details, then tap Add Recipient again to confirm.
  • Tap Next to go to the Prepare Document screen. Here, you can add CC recipients, change the document title, and edit the message. Then tap Configure Fields.
  • A screen will appear indicating that fillable fields have been detected. Tap Create to convert them into BoldSign form fields.

  • All fillable fields in the document will now be replaced with their BoldSign equivalents.
  • Tap any form field to reveal options like Settings, Copy, and Delete, allowing you to customize or manage the field as needed. Tap Settings to customize the field as needed.

  • Once all customizations are complete, tap Continue and proceed to dispatch the document.
