Pay As You Go for BoldSign

BoldSign’s Pay As You Go (PAYG) model lets you pay only for what you use—across all plans. Whether through the web app or API, you can scale usage without fixed limits or forced upgrades. Start with a base subscription and pay extra only when you exceed included limits or use add-on features.

How Pay As You Go works in the BoldSign’s Enterprise API plan

BoldSign’s API plan includes a base subscription with a fixed number of documents and features. When your usage exceeds these limits or includes add-on features such as SMS delivery, WhatsApp notifications, bulk sending, identity verification, and more, Pay As You Go (PAYG) charges apply.

Pay As You Go charges for BoldSign features

BoldSign offers the following Pay As You Go (PAYG) features, each billed per request based on actual usage:

SMS Authentication $0.2 per SMS (pricing varies depending on the recipient country specified in the request)
Signature requests via SMS $0.2 per SMS (pricing varies depending on the recipient country specified in the request)
QES verification $3 per signing attempt
ID verification $2 per verification
Bulk Send $0.25 per signature request
Signature requests via WhatsApp $0.1 per message
API eSignatures $0.75 per signature request
Bulk links $0.25 per signature request

These charges apply only when you use these features beyond your plan’s included limits. All usage is tracked and billed at the end of your billing cycle.

Example: How Pay As You Go charges are calculated

Let’s say you’re on the Enterprise API Plan, which costs $30/ month and includes 40 API documents.
Scenario 1: Standard API Usage
For instance, during the billing cycle, 50 documents were sent through the API.

  • The first 40 documents are covered under your subscription
  • The remaining 10 documents exceed your plan limit
  • Each extra document is billed at $0.75 under PAYG
  • So, 10 × $0.75 = $7.50 in additional charges

Your total monthly API cost would be: $30 (base plan) + $7.50 (PAYG charges) = $37.50

Scenario 2: Bulk Document Sending
In the same billing cycle, you also sent 100 bulk documents via the Webapp. Your plan includes 50 bulk credits.

  • The first 50 bulk documents are covered by your plan
  • The remaining 50 bulk documents exceed your bulk quota
  • Each extra bulk document is billed at $0.25 under PAYG
  • So, 50 × $0.25 = $12.50 in additional charges

Your updated monthly API cost now becomes: $30 (base plan) + $7.50 (Additional API documents sent beyond included limit) + $12.50 (Additional bulk usage beyond included credits) = $50.00

Bulk documents include both bulk sends and bulk links.

Enabling Pay As You Go features

  • Expand the Settings menu and click on Subscription to go to the Subscription page.
  • On the subscription page, scroll down to the Pay as you go section. Here you can enable features such as Bulk Documents, SMS and QES verification, etc.
