How to host an in-person signing session on mobile app?

The BoldSign mobile app makes it easy to host in-person signing sessions, allowing documents to be signed in the presence of a company representative or host. This feature is ideal for scenarios where physical presence is required and is available exclusively to paid BoldSign users. Any authorized user within your organization can host the session directly from their mobile device.

Follow the steps below to host an in-person signing session using the BoldSign mobile app.

Add a recipient as in-person signer

To add a host for an in-person signing session:

  • On the dashboard page, tap the + button on the bottom navigation bar to display the Create New screen, then select the Create New Document option.

  • You will be navigated to the Upload Documents screen. Tap the Upload Documents button to upload multiple files.

  • Tap Continue to proceed to the Recipient List screen.
  • Tap the Add Recipient button at the bottom to enter recipient details.
  • In the Role Type section, tap the dropdown menu and select In-Person Signer.
  • Enter the recipient’s name and email, along with the host’s email address. Tap Add Recipient again to confirm.

In-person signer

  • The host must be a registered user within your organization. Only organizational users can host in-person signing sessions.
  • After entering the recipient and host details, tap Next. Proceed to configure the form fields and send the document for signature.

Signing a document as in-person signer

  • The host will receive an email with a link. Open the email on a mobile device and tap Host Signing Session.

Email

  • Choose the recipient for whom you are hosting the session and tap Next.

Next button

  • An instruction page will appear. Read the instructions carefully and tap Start session.

  • The app will redirect to the signing page, where the in-person signer can complete the signing process under the host’s supervision.
  • Once signing is complete, tap the Finish button.
  • A prompt will appear asking to transfer control back to the host. Tap Transfer control to finalize the process.

Take control

  • The in-person signer feature is available only to paid BoldSign accounts.
  • Ensure the host is an authorized user within your organization before starting the session.
