Declining a document in the BoldSign mobile app allows you to reject a signature request when you’re unable to proceed with signing, as a signer. This feature is especially useful when the document is not applicable, contains incorrect information, or needs to be handled by someone else. All involved parties will be notified once the action is completed.
Follow the steps below to decline a document:
- Log in to your BoldSign mobile app account.
- Tap the
Documents
icon on the bottom navigation bar to access your list of documents.
- Locate the document that requires your signature and tap its context menu (three vertical dots).
- Choose the
Decline
option.
- The Decline bottom sheet will appear. Enter the reason for declining the document in the provided field.
- After entering the reason, tap the
Yes, decline
button.
- The document will be declined successfully.
- Alternatively, you can decline the document directly from the signing screen.
- On the signing page, tap the context menu at the top-right corner.
- Select the
Decline
option.
- Provide the reason for declining the document.
- Tap the
Yes, decline
button to complete the process.
If a signature request has multiple signers and one of the signers declines the document, the remaining signers will not be able to sign it. So be sure to carefully consider your decision before declining an eSignature document.
