Understanding Signature Request Charges in BoldSign API

Published:
3 mins read

BoldSign provides flexible API pricing designed to help you efficiently manage your eSignature workflows. This article explains how pricing is calculated when sending envelopes for signature requests through the BoldSign API.

What is an envelope?

An envelope, also known as a document, is a digital container that groups one or more files for signing, along with all the details (details about the sender and signers, form fields, etc.) needed to complete the signature process. Think of it as the electronic equivalent of a physical envelope that holds papers you send for signatures.

You can upload up to 25 files. Each document may have a maximum of 1000 pages and must not exceed 25 MB in size.

What’s inside an envelope?

An envelope contains the following:

Component Description
Documents One or more PDF, JPG, PNG, DOCX, and Excel (.xlsx) files (e.g., contract + NDA = still 1 envelope)
Signers Recipients who need to sign, initial, fill forms, etc. (any number up to 50)
CC Recipients People who get a copy but don’t sign
Form Fields Signature fields, date fields, checkboxes, textboxes, etc., placed on the document. There is no limit to the number of form fields that can be added to an envelope.

API pricing per signature request

Each envelope sent through the BoldSign API is considered one signature request and is billed at $0.75 per envelope.
