How to restrict the user from modifying profile details on mobile app?

In BoldSign, account administrators have full control over user profile permissions. Administrators can update user profile details and also restrict users from modifying their own information. When this restriction is enabled, users can view their profile details on the mobile app but cannot make any changes to them.

Follow the steps below to restrict users from modifying their profile details from the web app:

  • Go to the Settings menu and select the Business Profile option.
  • In the Settings tab, scroll down to the User Settings section.
  • Enable the Restrict users from modifying their profile details option.

  • Once done, click the Save changes button to apply the restriction.

Updating user details

Follow the steps below to update user details as an account admin from the web app:

  • Expand the Users & Teams menu and choose Users to navigate to the Users page.
  • Locate the user whose details need to be updated. Click the context menu at the end of their row and choose Edit profile.

  • An Edit Profile Details dialog box will appear. Modify the user’s First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, and Job Title in their respective fields.
  • Click the Save button to update the profile successfully.

How profile editing restrictions work on the mobile app

Once restrictions are enabled, and the admin has updated the user’s information:

  • Open the BoldSign mobile app and log in to the user’s account.
  • Tap the Profile icon and choose the Profile Details option from the profile screen.

  • The user’s updated details, such as First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, and Job Title, will be displayed exactly as configured by the account admin.
  • These fields will appear non‑editable. Users can view their profile information, but cannot make any changes when the restriction is enabled.
