The Finish Later feature in BoldSign lets signers pause a document midway and complete it later, but only if they are logged into their BoldSign account.

This article answers the most common questions about how the feature works, who can use it, and what limitations apply.

1. What is the Finish Later Feature?
   Finish Later allows a signer to pause the signing process without losing any information they have already entered. All completed fields such as signatures, initials, text fields, and uploaded attachments, are saved securely so the signer can continue later.
   This is especially useful when:

   • A more urgent document arrives
   • The signer is interrupted during signing
   • The document requires more review or clarification
   • Multiple documents need to be handled in order of priority

2. Who Can Use Finish Later?
   The Finish Later option is available only if the signer is logged into their BoldSign account while signing.
   If the signer is NOT logged in, Finish Later will NOT appear.
   This applies even if the signer receives the document via email. If they open it without logging in, the feature is not visible.

3. Why don’t I see the Finish Later option?
   Because you are not logged into your BoldSign account.
   Log in first, reopen the signing link, and the option will appear.

4. Can guest signers use the Finish Later feature?
   No. Guest signers (those without an account or not logged in) will not see the Finish Later button.

5. Can the sender disable or hide the Finish Later option?
   No. The sender cannot disable Finish Later for BoldSign account holders.
   If you are logged in, the option is always available.

6. What happens when I click Finish Later?
   BoldSign securely saves all completed fields and moves the document to your Pending section.

7. Where can I find documents I saved for later?
   In your BoldSign dashboard, under the Waiting for me section.

8. Does Finish Later save my signatures and uploaded files?
   Yes. Everything you’ve already filled in, including drawn/typed signatures and attachments, is saved.

9. Can I sign other documents after clicking Finish Later?
   Yes. Finish Later is designed so you can skip the current document and sign others first.

10. Will the sender know I used Finish Later?
    No. The sender is not notified when you pause. They only see the document as Pending.

11. Does Finish Later extend or change my deadline?
    No. The signing deadline remains the same.
    You must complete the document before it expires.

12. Can I resume signing from a different device?
    Yes, just log into your BoldSign account on that device.

13. What if the document requires identity verification?
    You may need to re‑verify your identity when resuming, based on the verification frequency set by the sender, but your progress will remain saved.

14. What if I clicked Finish Later by mistake?
    Simply open the document from the Waiting for me section and continue.

15. Can I decline a document after saving it for later?
    Yes. When you reopen the document, you can choose to decline.

16. Does Finish Later work for multi-signer documents?
    Yes. Each signer can pause independently.

17. What if the sender recalls the document?
    If the sender cancels or recalls the document, it may no longer appear in your waiting for me list.

18. Can I still view the document if I’m not logged in?
    You can view and sign it, but the Finish Later option will not be available unless you log in first.

19. Is my partial progress visible to the sender?
    No. Only full completion is visible.

20. Why is logging in required for Finish Later?
    Because the feature saves your progress securely inside your BoldSign account. Without a login, BoldSign cannot store your signing session.

21. Does BoldSign send reminders for documents saved for later?
    Yes, reminders are sent based on the sender’s reminder settings.

22. Does Finish Later work on mobile?
    Yes, on both desktop and mobile browsers, as long as you are logged in.
