How to setup Salesforce LWC components and permission sets?

Salesforce admins must add the BoldSign Lightning Web Components (LWC) to relevant record pages to enable users to send signature requests and track document statuses directly within Salesforce

Adding BoldSign LWC components to Salesforce record pages

The BoldSign Signatures component allows users to connect their BoldSign account (if not already connected) and send signature requests directly from a Salesforce record. The BoldSign Document Status component allows users to tract the documents sent from Salesforce.

  • Navigate to any Salesforce record page from app launcher. (e.g., Account, Opportunity, Contact).
  • Click the Settings Icon → Select Edit Page.

  • In the Lightning App Builder, find the BoldSign LWC components under the Components panel.
  • Drag and drop the required LWC component onto the record page.

  • Click Save, then Activate the page.
  • Assign the page as Org Default, App Default, or Record Type Default, as needed.

The BoldSign LWC components are supported in desktop form factor only.

Permission Set assignments

The BoldSign for Salesforce package includes two permission sets to control access for admins and end users:

  • BoldSign Admin Access – for Salesforce administrators
  • BoldSign User Access – for end users who send and track documents

Assign the appropriate permission sets before users access the BoldSign features.

BoldSign Admin Permission Set

Assign the BoldSign Admin permission set to users who needs to manage the users, templates, the user should be account admin in BoldSign.

  • Access to the BoldSign app and App Setup page.
  • Connect and manage the BoldSign account in Salesforce.
  • Configure templates and field mappings.
  • Invite Salesforce users to BoldSign.
  • Assign this permission set to BoldSign and Salesforce account administrator.

BoldSign User Permission Set

Assign the BoldSign User permission set to users who will send signature requests and track document status.

  • Access to the BoldSign LWC components.
  • Send signature requests from Salesforce records.
  • View and track document status at the record level.

Steps to Assign Permission Sets

  1. Go to Setup → Permission Sets.
  2. Open BoldSign Admin or BoldSign User permission set.
  3. Cloning the permission sets.
  4. Click Manage Assignments on cloned permission sets.
  5. Click Add Assignments.
  6. Select the required users and click Assign.
