How to print and sign a document?

Printing and signing a document refers to the process of physically printing out a document and signing it with a pen. This option needs to be enabled when a document requires a physical signature. The print and sign option is available only for paid plan users.

Enable print and sign for signers

  • Start creating a new document by clicking Create New and select Create New Document from the Dashboard page.
  • Go to the Document settings section and you will see an option Allow signers to print and sign. Enable this option.
  • Once you have enabled this, the signers can print and sign the document.

Printing and signing on the signer side

  • Click the Review and Sign button on the signer email, and the document opens up.

  • Click the More Actions button on the top-right corner.

  • Select the Print and sign option. A confirmation dialog box opens up for confirmation. Click Yes, proceed to continue.

  • The print and sign procedure is initiated, the document is downloaded, and you can exit the page.

  • After that, print the downloaded document and sign it.
  • Now scan the signed document and send it to the sender personally. This document will be further verified and uploaded by the sender.
  • When a signer initiates the print and sign process, other recipients cannot sign the document until it is completed.
  • The hyperlink field will not be shown in the downloaded document.

Uploading the signed document

  • The sender gets notified through mail about the choice to Print and sign.

  • The sender will receive the signed document’s scanned copy from the signer personally. After reviewing it, the sender has to upload it.
  • Open the My Documents page and look for the sent document.
  • Click the document to open up the overview page.

  • Click the Upload Scanned Document option and upload the signed document.
  • Now check the positions of the fields in the document. Then check the checkbox at the bottom and click the Confirm field positions button. The signing process is complete.

  • The print and sign process has been completed successfully, and the other recipients can sign the document now.
