How to enable QES in a template?

BoldSign supports Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) for templates, enabling the highest level of signer identity verification and compliance with advanced digital signature standards such as eIDAS.

QES is available on Business, Premium, and Enterprise plans and is charged at $3 per verification attempt under the pay‑as‑you‑go model.

Prerequisites

Before enabling QES in a template, ensure the following:

• QES is enabled in your business profile.
• Your subscription supports Qualified Electronic Signatures.

How to enable QES when creating a template?

Follow these steps to create a template with QES enabled:

1. Click Create New and select Create New Template.

2. On the Prepare template page:

• Enter the title in the Title field, add a description, and upload the required files in the Add file(s) section.

3. Open the settings for the required signer role and enable QES option.

4. Configure any additional settings as required, then click Next to configure the fields.
5. Add the required fields and click Save template.

The template is now successfully created with QES enabled.

How QES works for signers?

When you send a document using a QES‑enabled template:

• Signers must complete the QES verification process before accessing the document.
• After successful verification, the signer can review the document and complete the signing process using a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES).
• The completed document includes a legally compliant audit trail along with qualified certificate details.
