How to import dropdown options manually or from a CSV file in the mobile app?
You can now import multiple dropdown options at once using either manual entry or a CSV file upload. This makes it easier to configure dropdown fields, especially when working with large set of values.
You can add multiple dropdown values using one of the following methods:
- Manual Entry – Enter multiple values at once using line breaks, commas, or semicolons.
- CSV File Upload – Import dropdown values directly from a CSV file.
Steps to import multiple dropdown options
- Navigate to the
Configure Fieldspage. - Add a
Dropdown fieldto the document. - Tap the
Settingsicon for the Dropdown field you want to configure. - Open the
Preferencestab. - Scroll down to the
Dropdown Optionssection.
- Tap
Import.
The Import panel displays the following options:
- Type Values (default).
- Upload CSV.
Method 1: Import dropdown options manually
Use this option to add multiple dropdown values without creating a CSV file.
- In the
Type Valuestab, enter your dropdown options in the text box. - Separate each value using any of the following:
- Enter key (new line)
- Comma (,)
- Semicolon (;)
- Once all values have been entered, tap
Importto apply the changes.
Method 2: Import dropdown options using a CSV File
Use this option when importing a large number of dropdown values.
- Switch to the
Upload CSVtab. - To review the required file format, tap
Download Sample CSV.
- Tap
Uploadand select the CSV file from your device. - After the file is uploaded successfully, tap
Importto add the dropdown values.
Ensure your CSV file is properly formatted before uploading to avoid errors.
Additional import options
If the dropdown field already contains values, choose how the imported values should be handled:
- Add to Existing Values - Adds the imported values to the current dropdown options without affecting existing entries.
- Replace Existing Values - Removes all existing dropdown options and replaces them with the imported values.
Duplicate values in the imported data are automatically ignored to ensure all dropdown options remain unique.
With the new import functionality, you can efficiently manage dropdown options in bulk using manual entry or CSV upload. This helps save time and improves accuracy when working with large datasets.
