How to expire the documents in hours?

Published:
1 min read

The expiry duration sets a deadline for completing the document signing process. If the task is not completed by the specified time, the agreement will expire and access to the document will be restricted or ended for the signer.

In BoldSign, the expiration can be set in the following three different types:

  • Days – Number of days after which the document must expire.
  • Hours – Number of hours after which the document must expire.
  • Specific Date and Time – A particular date and time after which the document must expire.

Follow the steps below to expire the documents in hours:

  • Click the Business Profile option under the Settings menu. Only the account administrator can access the Business profile page.
  • You can find the Default Expiry Date Type option by scrolling down to the Document settings section.
  • In the Default Expiry Date Type, the type is set to Days by default.
  • Click the dropdown and select the Hours type. Then, the Expiry duration will be displayed in hours in the next column.
  • Select the number of hours after which the document should expire in the dropdown and click the Save changes button.
  • The default expiry date type will be changed to hours.

Changing the expiry type

  • Create a document by clicking the Create New button from the dashboard page and selecting Create New Document.
  • Now, the expiration will be displayed in hours. The sender can change the number of hours in the Expires in column if needed.
