How to send markdown formatted document and private messages to recipients?

In BoldSign, you can add a document message that is shared with all recipients and a private message that is visible only to a specific recipient. Both message fields support Markdown formatting, allowing you to format content with elements such as bold text, italics, bullet lists, and more.
Markdown support in messages
Markdown formatting is available in the following fields:
- Document Message- A message sent to all recipients.
- Private Message- A message visible only to a specific recipient.
Using Markdown helps improve message readability and allows you to highlight important information or instructions for recipients.
Steps to add a markdown document message
- Click
Create Newand selectCreate New Document. - On the Prepare document page, enter your message in the
Document Messagefield. - Use Markdown syntax to format the message as required.
- Add recipients and continue sending the document.
Steps to add a markdown private message
- Click
Create Newand selectCreate New Document. - On the Prepare document page, add recipients.
- Under each recipient, click Show
Settings. - Enable Private message.
- Enter the private message using Markdown syntax.
- Send the document.
What recipients see
After the document is sent:
- All recipients receive the signature request email containing the configured Document message.
- Recipients with a private message configured also receive their recipient-specific message.
- If both a document message and a private message are configured for a recipient, both messages are displayed during signing.

You can use standard Markdown syntax in document and private messages, including:
- Headings
- Bold text
- Italic text
- Bullet lists
- Numbered lists
