How to remove a Passkey from your BoldSign account?
Published:
If you replace a device, no longer use a passkey, or suspect that a device has been compromised, you can remove the passkey from your BoldSign account. To help protect your account, BoldSign requires identity verification before a passkey can be removed.
Before you begin
Before removing a passkey, note the following:
- Removing a passkey prevents it from being used to sign in to your BoldSign account.
- Removing a passkey from BoldSign does not automatically delete it from your device’s credential manager, browser, or password manager (for example, Apple Keychain, Google Password Manager, or 1Password). If you no longer need the passkey, remove it separately from your device or password manager.
Steps to remove a passkey
- Sign in to your BoldSign account.
- Go to Settings > My Profile from the left navigation panel.
- Locate the Passkeys section.
- Find the passkey you want to delete and click the Delete icon next to it.
- Verify your identity:
- If Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) is enabled: Authenticate using your configured TFA method (Authenticator App, SMS, or Recovery Email).
- If TFA is not enabled: Enter the one-time verification code sent to your BoldSign email address.
- Click Verify to confirm.
Result:
- The passkey is permanently unlinked from your BoldSign account and can no longer be used for authentication.
Removing one passkey does not affect any other passkeys or authentication methods registered to your account.
