How to copy or duplicate a template?

1 min read
To create multiple versions of a similar document with some variations, you can use a template as a starting point and then copy or duplicate it to create different versions. You can copy and modify an existing template rather than create it from scratch. Copying and reusing it helps create more similar templates quickly. This option only applies if you have editing permission for the selected template.
Follow the steps below to clone a template:
- Go to the
Templates
option in the left sidebar and selectAll Templates
. - You will see all the templates you have created, as well as those shared with you. From this list, select the required template and click the context menu.
- Then, choose the Clone template option from the menu.
- When you choose the Clone template option, a Clone Template dialog box will appear with two options
Without form field values
andWith form field values
.
- If you select the
Without form field values
option, the cloned template will not retain any form field values, and all fields will be empty in the new document. - If you choose the
With form field values
option, the cloned template will retain the form field values from the original template if they have any data. - After selecting the desired clone type, click the
Clone
button in the dialog box. This will take you to the editing page of the cloned template, where you can edit and make any necessary changes.
- Once the changes are done, click
Save Template
.
- The new template will be saved successfully.
