How to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) in BoldSign application?

Published:
2 mins read

Single Sign-On or SSO allows users to log into multiple applications using just one set of login credentials. Password fatigue can be decreased by SSO configuration. In our BoldSign application, we provide support for configuring SSO settings. Users must first sign up for an account with the BoldSign app to enable SSO. Access to SSO configuration is limited to the account administrator and can be done on the settings page.

Setting up SSO

Follow the steps below to configure the SSO login details on the settings page.

  • Once you are logged in with the BoldSign application, navigate to the Settings menu and click the Single Sign-On option.
  • You will find a Redirect URL on the Single Sign-On page. It is necessary to copy and paste the URL into the identity provider’s redirect link field.
  • SSO configuration can be done either with Open Id or OAuth connections.
  • When you click the OAuth option, you must enter the Client Id, Client Secret, Token Endpoint, Authorization Endpoint and User Information Endpoint.

SSO OAuth options

  • When you click the Open ID option, you must enter information like the Client Id, Client Secret, and the Authority URL.

SSO Open Id options

  • All the above details should be obtained from the identity provider.
  • Once all the required fields are filled, click the Save button.
  1. An Identity provider is a verified source through which you can access other websites using a single sign-on.
  2. When a user logs in using SSO, the Identity provider verifies the user’s credentials and redirects them to the Callback URL or Redirect URL, which directs them to the BoldSign application.

Inviting users

Follow the steps below to invite the users.

  • From the Users & Teams menu, select Users and then click Invite users button.
  • After entering one or more email addresses, click the Add button.
  • When the Invite button is clicked, the users who have been invited will get an email invitation.

Inviting users after SSO configuration

Accepting the invitation

  • As soon as the receiver opens the invitation link, an OTP will be sent to the invited email address.
  • Enter the OTP and click the Continue button.

Accepting the invitation

  • If the OTP is valid, you will be redirected to the configured provider site and asked to log in.
  • You must login with the proper credentials or select an account from the options and then it will take you to the BoldSign application page.
