To send WhatsApp signature requests via Zapier in BoldSign, you’ll need to combine BoldSign’s WhatsApp delivery feature with Zapier’s automation capabilities. Here’s a complete guide:

Prerequisites

Ensure you have:

  • BoldSign Business Plan or higher
  • WhatsApp add-on enabled. WhatsApp delivery costs $0.10 per signature request.
  • A Zapier Account.
  • Recipient’s mobile number with WhatsApp access

Step 1: Create a template in BoldSign with WhatsApp delivery

  • Click on Create New and select the Create New Template option.

Create New Template option

  • You will be redirected to the Prepare template page. Add the template title in the Title field and the description in the Description field.
  • Then, add files in the Add files section.

Prepare template page

  • In the Add role section, Add Role.
  • Then click the dropdown arrow below the recipient field and choose WhatsApp as the Delivery method.

  • Fill any other required field and click the Next button to go to the Configure fields page.
  • Drag and drop the required form fields to the document and save the template.

Step 2: Set up a Zap in Zapier

Zapier page

  • Click the Try this template button, and you will be directed to the Zap creation page.
  • Provide the relevant title at the top of the page and proceed to set up the template.
  • In the trigger section, by default, RowShare is set as the trigger app, and New Row is the trigger event.
  • Connect your RowShare account and select the Table from which you want to fetch the details.
  • Then, test the trigger and click the Continue button to move on to the next section.

Trigger app

  • For the Action section, BoldSign is pre-set as the action app, and Send Document From Template is the action event.

Action app

  • Connect the BoldSign account and choose the template you created with WhatsApp delivery.
  • Based on the chosen template, the fields will be displayed one below the other.
  • In the Recipient phone number field, provide the recipient’s valid phone number with country code, e.g., +9199944…
  • Click True in the Sandbox Mode field to test the integration without consuming API credits.
  • Map any other required fields, then proceed to test the action. Once the test is successful, publish the Zap and turn it on.

Recipient phone number

Now, whenever recipient details are added to the RowShare table, a document will be automatically sent for signature.

The signer should receive a secure link via WhatsApp chat to sign the document.

WhatsApp link

WhatsApp notifications include signature requests, reminders, completion alerts, document expiration and deletion warnings. Each notification is charged at $0.10 per notification.
