How do I make a HubSpot-mapped field read-only for signers?
Published:
When creating templates using the BoldSign HubSpot integration, you can configure mapped fields as Read Only. The field value is automatically populated from the mapped HubSpot property and remains visible to the signer without allowing edits.
Make the field read-only
Step 1: Open the template
- Open the required template in the BoldSign template editor within HubSpot.
- Add a Text Field if the template does not already contain one.
Step 2: Enable Read Only
- Select the Text Field you want to map.
- Enable the Read Only option in the field settings.
- Save the template.
Step 3: Map the field
- Map the field to the required HubSpot property.
- Save the template to retain the mapping configuration.
Step 4: Verify the configuration
- Create a signature request from HubSpot.
- Confirm that the mapped value is populated automatically.
- Verify that the signer can view the value but cannot edit it.
- Read-only behavior is configured at the field level.
- The value is automatically populated from the mapped HubSpot property.
- Signers can view read-only values but cannot edit them.
- No additional API configuration, Zapier workflow, or custom code is required.
The mapped HubSpot property value is automatically populated when the signature request is created. The signer can view the value, but cannot modify it because the field is configured as read-only.
